Perform all aspects of maintenance on draglines, loading shovels and coal handling facilities.
Essential Duties:
Duties at the surface coal mine will be wide and varied, based on needs of the operation. These duties may include all or some of the following:
Rebuild dragline buckets and shovel dippers.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair dragline and shovel malfunctions.
Inspect equipment and structures for needed repairs and reports findings.
Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, greasing and replacing components on a scheduled basis.
Operate hoists, boom trucks, hydraulic jacks and other maintenance equipment to complete mechanical repairs.
Understand and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and repair as needed.
Read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Applicants will be trained to operate a boom truck, welding truck, forklift and other support equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of all phases of welding, cutting, air arcing, grinding, and an understanding of metal properties. Applicants must have a valid drivers license, be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and be willing to work rotating shifts.
Educational Requirements:
On-the-job experience or vocational training (minimum qualifications for job advertisement - must pass the necessary written and practical tests for this position.)
