1978 F250 Ranger XLT I have own this truck for the past 12 years. It has been a very reliable daily driver to work even in the winter with it being plugged in. Recently replaced the intake manifold gasket, rebuilt the carburetor, installed a manual choke, valve cover gaskets, upgraded air cleaner, replaced plug and wires, distributor, cap and rotor. Compression test was done at this time and all cylinders were between 115 and 125 psi. Replaced clutch and rear main seal and new oil pan gasket. Replaced oil in the transmission. Transfer case was gone through and all seals and fluid replaced. Front and rear diffs fluid changed.As of now there has been no oil leaks. This was all done about 4 months ago. Has a 50 gallon fuel cell for fuel, under tanks are no good. The speedometer reads 349,*** granted this has not worked since I have owned it. I drive it about 3 miles a day to get to to work. This truck is a great running truck but it still needs some TLC. The passenger rear wheel cylinder started to leak a couple weeks ago. 4 wheel drive works the front drive line vibrates when engaged was told it is not repairable. Would need to purchase one or have one built.Title in hand. This is has a 400 engine in it and a manual 4 speed with low gears it does about 55 on the highway. 4x4. Back two tires like new condition.
