I purchased this generator new in 2018. I installed a Hutch Mountain Propane Kit that allows you to run it off propane or gasoline.
My plan was to run it exclusively on propane for ice fishing. It worked great the first day when the temp was in the teens, but on the second day, the temp dropped to -20 degrees. The regulator eventually froze up. At that point, I decided that propane was a bad idea for ice fishing.
Since it had never had gas in the carburetor, I decided I would keep it as an emergency propane generator at my house. The nice thing about propane vs gasoline is that you dont have to worry about fuel gumming up in the carburetor when it sits for a while.
Ive decided I can always use my old gas generator if the power goes down.
The generator has about 20 hours on it. I just changed the oil which is recommended after the break-in period. I also put gasoline in it for the first time. It fired right up on the third pull and it runs great. Also, I did crank the motor over every fall to keep the cylinders lubed.
I will also be including the installed Hutch Mountain Propane Kit with the Regulator and Hose. This a $250 value.
