Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Develops and maintains relationships with various stakeholders and works with one or more designated operating companies in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of effective public relations strategies and programs designed to meet the operating companys strategic and operational needs. Provides public relations advice and counsel on the opportunities and implications of major business developments, particularly as they relate to the creative, cost-effective and timely use of public relations principles designed to create and maintain a positive corporate reputation with both internal and external audiences. Under the direction of department management, responsible for the public relations and communications of one or more of the corporations business units and coordinates production of a wide variety of public relations and communication products and services. Implements the crisis communications and media relations activities of one or more of the corporations business units.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A working knowledge of public relations at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors degree in journalism, mass communications, public relations, marketing, communications, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Six years experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations or related discipline.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with the news media as a company spokesperson.

Experience with multimedia production, including video production.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs.

Experience in social media and website management.

Experience in the utility industry.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Position location in our Bismarck, North Dakota or Boise, Idaho office, with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule where feasible.

Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.

Required to maintain a valid driver's license.

Requires travel: Moderate (up to 25%)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement effective public relations and communications strategies and plan and advise regarding the reputational implications of various business initiatives, market conditions, regulatory and political activities and industry trends.

Develop and maintain the brand and reputation of the operating company(s).

Provide counsel and communication assistance to senior executives regarding the public relations impact of various company initiatives, plus provide counsel regarding personal contacts, public speaking and presentations to a wide variety of audiences.

Use effective public relations strategies to work with and support creative staff and outside vendors in the production of a variety of creative materials, including publications, audio/video products, websites, electronic media, graphic design materials, advertising and marketing campaigns.

Provide writing services to produce news articles, newsletters, news releases, feature stories and video scripts, along with speeches, presentations and talking points for key operating unit executives.

Provide photography, videography, PowerPoint presentation and event planning services, as necessary, to complete various projects for the corporation and the operating companies.

Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Offers typically made between - ($91,710 - $114,640)
