Registered Finn Ewe Lambs

We have 9 registerable Finn Ewe lambs with dairy genetics for sale. One of the lambs is 3/4 Finn, 1//4 East Friesian. The other 8 are 100% Finn genetics. They were all born unassisted in March. Their dams and sires come from Hedge Hog Hill Farm in Massachusetts. That farm focuses on dairy genetics as the first priority in their sheep. Reasons to consider Finns:

Our ewes lambed multiples with no assistance.

Lambs are vigorous and ready to eat when born. They are born small, but they grow fast. Ewe lambs can be bred to lamb at 1 year old. Ram lambs are able to be used for breeding at around 5 monts of age.

Finns are known for birthing multiples and our ewes are able to feed all the lambs they birth. One of the ewe lambs for sale is a single. All the others are twins, triplets, or quads. We had no bum lambs. Their dams had plenty of milk for them.

One of the our Registered Finn rams was from a litter of 6. His dam had 7 lambs the year before he was born. That ewe was able to feed 6 of the 7 lambs. A couple of these ewe lambs are sired by him. The other ewe lambs are sired by a young registered Finn ram with excellent dairy background. So milk production is bred into the genetics of these ewe lambs.

If you are wanting a ewe that you can milk, these sheep are bred for dairy characteristics. They are excellent dispostion and seldom kick or get upset on the milkstand. They will not produce as much milk as other, larger dairy sheep, but most mature ewes will provide a quart a day on a 2x a day milking schedule. They are bred for excellent udders. They are motivated by food, so they are easy to train to the milkstand.

These lambs are being weaned now and will be ready to go to their new homes soon. They are friendly and easy to work with. They have had CD & T shots and boosters. They have been fed grain, but have not been on a creep feeder. Our sheep are all tested negative for OPP, Johnes, and CL. Located in Belle Fourche, SD. Asking $400 each. We would consider breeding them for spring lambing for an additional $100, so they would then cost $500 each.
